Anxiety is focusing on future events you can’t control and obsessing over them or avoiding them. Situational depression can often be caused by dwelling on past events that you didn’t want. All we have is the here and now. What are you blessed with today? Is it your health? Are you living pain free? Do you have any friends or family that love you? Can you use your arms and legs to workout today? Can you settle your mind with peaceful thoughts of gratitude and patience? Do you have the courage to face your fears and failures so they don’t keep growing? I finally understand what meditation is and isn’t. It isn’t trying to sit still and not look or think about things (ADHD girl here lol). It’s giving very intentional thoughts to yourself about who you want to be today and how your day will be good no matter who or what is in it. It’s taking back control of your thoughts (rerouting negative feedback loops) into positive, funny or lighthearted ways to be content and fulfilled each day. Don’t look too far into the future or you’ll get anxious with your fears of the unknown. Don’t dwell on the past or you’ll never have any time or energy to focus on the now. Settle into letting go of the things you can’t control and becoming SUPER empowered to do things you can. You can be strong. You can be independent. You can chase your dream job. You can attract abundance. You can have a family or friends that you love. Be the positive energy that attracts that vibe and practice patience for when it comes because it will! Ask yourself some hard questions. Am I contributing to any negative experiences in my life?
