It becomes exhausting after a while because if you’re constantly focusing on something that you can’t control - like people liking you - it is incredibly anxiety inducing and just can’t end well. It has gone to the point of spreading myself so thin that eventually I wasn’t able to see anyone at all. I guess back in the day humans relied on needing to be accepted in a tribe because one wrong move and you were outcasted. But in our world today it is unnecessary and we don’t need that additional stress in an already intense world. We can waste so much energy in something we can’t even control... We gotta accept that some people just aren’t gonna like us and the worst case scenario isn’t too bad, just a little ego crushing... We’re all so different and there’s so many of us on this rotating planet that how is everyone supposed to like us? - I highly recommend the Subtle art of not giving a f**k book. It helped me see how much I give a f**k about unnecessary sh*t and things I can’t control. It’s not like I’ve cracked the code - some days it’s very hard - but I’m a bit more aware which is all I can ask for right now. Anyway!
