Her only competition is herself and all she needs to do is her best! #Repost @latinos.empowered with @make_repost ・・・ Are you empowering other women? 👯‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was at a (virtual) recruiting event last week as a representative of the company I work for with two other colleagues from different areas of the firm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As we were discussing how our company invests in woman, I mentioned that I had participated in the Women’s Career Strategies Initiative this past year, a program that focuses on professional advancement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As soon as I finished talking, I was cut off guard when one of my colleagues said, “Patricia is being very modest right now. This program is one of the most prestigious programs at the firm and only a select group of high performing individuals are invited to participate.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was stunned. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I realized that I had unknowingly been downplaying my accomplishments as I often do. It’s something I’m actively working on🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had never met that woman prior to that event, yet she felt the need to let others know of my accomplishments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did she need to?
