I can understand someone looking at us and saying ‘Wow, what they got going on is dope.' I think what they get wrong about Black beauty is the appropriation of our beauty. It’s ours. It’s handed so beautifully down generations. Hopefully we’re upholding it, celebrating it in the way our ancestors wanted it to be celebrated. You can look, but you can’t touch... I’m so honored that I get to tell stories about our beauty and tell the world how dope we are.”
