Blended family life is pretty normal to me so I was really surprised that someone asked me, ‘are you worried about them being halves?’, when I was pregnant with Pearl. Darcy and Pearl have different Dad’s and are half-sisters. In my eyes and in my heart, this makes no difference at all. They both love each other beyond words and I see them as complete, perfect siblings. I know the traditional family set up is one mum, one dad and a few children. I think that set up is lovely and is one I once had myself. The thing is, life has it’s twists and turns and the beauty is that you can adapt to make whatever family set up you have beautiful.
