As a young girl, Trinidadian novelist Elizabeth Nunez wasn’t allowed to participate in Carnival celebrations. Now, she revels in its freedoms. “Where else does one see men and women, particularly women, taking such joy in the shapes of their bodies?” she writes. “Such exquisite freedom!
