After walking for five days in the Darien Gap, migrants on their way to the United States cross the Chucunaque River in Bajo Chiquito, Panama, on Feb. 10. In recent weeks, hundreds have started to make their way through Panama and into Costa Rica, following almost a year in camps at the jungle's edge, @apnews reports. Panama had closed its borders last March, in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19. The reopening of its land borders last month reignited migration between Colombia and Panama.
