Earlier this month, @reuters reports, the country’s prosecutor-general opened a preliminary investigation into President Jair Bolsonaro and the health minister, Eduardo Pazuello, for alleged negligence in response to an outbreak in Manaus, where a second wave proved vicious. The area is the birthplace of a variant of the virus that researchers said is more transmissible.
