Where we are going starts with where we have been. Introducing The Records, a series where we look at past projects, collaborations, and noteworthy pieces that have shaped the wings+horns trajectory. This week we reflect on our collection of Handknits.

Since 2004, we have worked with local knitters to produce handmade woolen sweaters on the west coast of British Columbia. From FW16 to FW17, we expanded the offering with a series of premium handknit styles made from heavy gauge pure wool and Peruvian Highland wool. The collection included a full-length cardigan, liner jacket, zip vest, crewneck and turtleneck sweater.

Using variations of traditional stitchwork, each style was custom designed with its own unique multi-knit structure, playing with classic patterns and shifted paneling. The combination of artisanal technique and our modern approach to design showcased the centuries-long heritage of handcrafted knitwear rooted in the Pacific Northwest.
