Context is important to understanding politics and the social conditions we live in. In U.S. politics, the range of political discourse is actually super narrow and skewed quite far to the right, even among Democrats/liberals. What are considered standard liberal ideas in the U.S. are still quite conservative if we understand the full spectrum of political ideas.
Just because things are normalized, like people not having health care, homelessness, poverty, mass incarceration, etc...doesn't mean that they're right. We need practice in imagining the kind of world that we want to live in.
