How will you stand up for your dreams today? When Jedidah Isler PhD (@jedidahislerphd) was growing up, she dreamed of someday becoming an astrophysicist. But at the time, few Black women had earned a doctorate in a field of physics. In a TED Talk, she shares how she became the first Black woman to earn a PhD in astrophysics from Yale, explaining how encouraging greater diversity in STEM would just change science for the better. To others like her, who worry their identity, history or background will get in the way of their dreams, she offers this advice: "To every Black, Latina, Indigenous, First Nation or any other woman or girl who finds herself resting at the blessed intersection of race and gender, you can be anything you want to be."
