@maisonalaia has officially named Pieter Mulier as its newest Creative Director, following legendary designer Azzedine Alaïa’s passing in 2017. Mulier cut his teeth as an intern for Raf Simons before transitioning to Simons' right-hand man working alongside him at Jil Sander, Christian Dior, and Calvin Klein where he developed a knack for sleek, feminine silhouettes. "Pieter’s appointment marks the opening of an important new chapter for our Maison as we jointly seek to carry the foundational values and distinctive style of Alaïa into the future,” Myriam Serrano, chief executive officer, said in a statement.
