“One of the greatest challenges recently has been access to the internet, during lockdown, so I can carry on schooling,” says 18-year-old Sebabatso from South Africa.

As students continue to grapple with the realities of remote learning amid COVID-19, the inequalities in access to the internet and digital devices threaten to deepen the global learning crisis. Globally, more than 750 million young people aged 15-24 years old have no internet at home.

Bridging the digital divide is more urgent than ever before.
