Photo by @daisygilardini / Cruising among broken pack ice in Svalbard, Norway. A fish-eye lens is an ultrawide wide-angle lens that creates a strong hemispheric distortion. It allows for very tight focus on the subject but with great depth of field. I occasionally like to use this effect, especially in the polar regions when photographing sea ice. The distortion creates a natural globe effect that helps me emphasize the message that our world is melting.
