What if we instead invested in rehabilitating our rural areas and small towns and once again saw them as the backbone of our nation. In school we learn about the “brain drain” experienced by every single small town and rural area in America. The perceived idea that the best and brightest move away and the rural areas slip perpetually further and further behind. I am very much ranting, but I know there are a lot of people out there that agree with me. I moved away for a few years to the big city lights cause JayZ, Alicia Keys, and Taylor Swift said if you could make it there you could make it anywhere. The thing that I learned most is that I truly love small town America and am endlessly thankful to be back in my hometown. Not because it didn’t work out in the big city, but because I know that the rural parts are where people like us are needed.」2月2日 2時46分
