He was a body shop worker by day and a drifter by night, running with a local crew known as Rough World.⁣ ⁣ A few years later, Nakai purchased his first Porsche 911, an old 930 model that he bought cheap and soon began modifying and customizing with a very distinct style. Inspired partly by Porsche race cars and partly by the drift cars of his youth, he named it “Stella” after his beverage of choice.⁣ ⁣ He started his own shop called RAUH Welt BEGRIFF (a German translation of Rough World) and began modifying Porsche cars for customers around Japan. After the growth of online media lifted RWB to a new level of popularity, RWB Porsche cars would be built for customers across the world.⁣ ⁣ More than just a partsmaker or a bodyman, Nakai’s RWB Porsche are all executed with a very distinct vision and each customer car is famously given a name of Nakai’s choosing, usually based on his impressions of the owner.
