You see, it’s so easy to post a pic or video (that was redone until perfect) and say I crushed a workout today but the backstory is what makes me feel like I “crushed” what I did today. Even tho if you watch the video it’s nothing to get pumped about.  . You see, I had back surgery years ago. Metal rods and all. I’ve never felt 100% since then but definitely have better days,weeks,months than others. Along with that I have created imbalances & compensated for where I’m weak. I’ve often chosen to focus on where i feel strong & avoid where I feel weak. Also avoiding exercises i HATE that remind me i’m not the badass I would like to think.. . Over time this only makes things more imbalanced! . I’ve been working with an awesome physical therapist to PUSH me where I avoid going. Just because we know we need to do something doesn’t always mean we DO IT. It’s  more fun to focus on things that build the sexy muscles...and well not so much when things make us feel awkward & weak. . YESTERDAY, Daniel had me doing things I SHOULD be doing easily. He offered to film them & I declined because I felt so much like a poser. Then when he left, I cried & felt ashamed...then recorded myself for reference. #Humbling . Then today, I went out and did them alone. Sucked up the ego. . Just 1 day later the improvement has stunned me. . As a health coach I’m embarrassed that something so simple to many ppl is difficult for me.  But guess what? Im being given the same damn lesson I tell my ladies. . the polished retakes are great, but sometimes we need to be reminded that we ALL have weaknesses & things we suck at..and that’s OK. . 2nd slide is today. 3rd is yesterday. . I couldn’t even get off my knees just yesterday and have lots of work to do but damn it will be worth it.  Later I can post the perfectly executed one. .
