A few weeks before the world championship in 2007, Paolo Bettini was intrigued by the Ultra Torque, the crankset system with an integrated bottom bracket and spindle. Bettini asked to try it in practice and was immediately won over by its rigidity, the ease of weight transfer when pedalling. He put it on his bike, took it to the world championships, and won. For the Ultra Torque there could not have been a better baptism.
