In 1978, a decade after Enoch Powell’s infamous speech on immigration, Chris @steeleperkins travelled to Wolverhampton, England, to photograph the city’s ethnic minorities.
.
Over ten days, Chris @steeleperkins was in and out of church clubs, community centers, factories, and playgrounds. His images catch the day-to-day, following individuals as they crowd around the record player, playing dominoes, at prayer or working shifts at the factory. It was a portrait of a community.
.
This image of people dancing at a disco from this body of work, is now available as a 8x10" limited edition print, as part of the Magnum Editions Collection.
