"I’m a commercial photographer and filmmaker specializing in on-location production in very remote areas. When I go afield, I must be ready for anything. That means that my real camera bag is usually a jam-packed 4WD camera truck. This is my current, carry-on-sized, backpack based, Canon EOS R5 kit that offers me the ability to shoot multi-cam video productions as easily as high-resolution stills. I’ve been a full-time professional visual artist for nearly 50 years and hold the philosophy that my lenses are my brushes and my camera bodies are my canvases. I love the new Canon EOS R5 camera and ordered a bunch of them the first moment I could. My on-location video interviews benefit from dedicating one camera each to the interviewer and interviewee with a third camera positioned to provide a wide-angle Master Shot. My stills work, often pursued in wet and dusty conditions, benefits mightily from changing lenses as infrequently as possible. Having multiple individual bodies allows me to dedicate a specific camera to a specific lens, usually the RF 15-35mm F/2.8L IS USM, the RF 24-105mm F/4L IS USM, and the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM. If a crazy amount of telephoto is required, I always have the RF Extenders RF 1.4X and 2X ready to multiply the reach of my 100-500. For lower light situations, I carry the RF 35mm F/1.8 IS Macro STM, the RF 50mm F1.2L USM (not shown), and the RF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS USM. If a fast EF super-telephoto or EF T/S (Tilt-Shift) lens is required (not shown), I’ll add it to the kit and adapt it to the EOS R5 with the brilliant Canon Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter (shown). On the rare occasion that I need even closer focus than my 24-105 or 70-200 provide, I screw on my Canon 77mm Close Up Lens 500D (shown).
