We make prayers and wishes for a very good year.⁠ It literally means the shrine "first visit" of the year. ⁠⠀ Also, when we visit a shrine, we get “omikuji”, which is kind of paper fortune. Daikichi (大吉) means best luck and Kyo(凶) means bad luck, for example. Last year I got Kichi(吉) so I hope I could get Daikichi this time. ⁠⠀ If you already did it for 2021, please let us know the result with your New Year's resolution!!
