We asked #LLBeanPartner Adriana Garcia (@outdoorhomie) what inspired her to co-found the group @latinxhikers with @luz.lituma, and she said it came down to a lack of outdoors representation: "As an outdoorsy biracial, Latinx woman from the deep south, I never really saw myself represented in anything - from the media I consumed, to the sports I played, to the careers I wanted to pursue. I felt pretty lonely for a long time so when Luz and I connected we spent a lot of time talking about our experiences in the world and I realized that stories like mine and hers weren’t really being told. We came up with the idea to put our stories out there on some kind of social media platform."
