We lost her January 4th after a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer.⠀ I remember going to bed that night praying for her. I did something that almost felt silly to me in that moment, I put my hands together in prayer like a child on her bedside reciting prayers learned from Sunday school, but I wanted to do something the felt familiar and almost ritualistic in nature like setting an intention to send this request straight to her heart. ⠀ I felt her presence as I tried to connect with her when everyone was sleeping. The house was quiet. The sky was illuminated by the lights of the city. The night was calm and I prayed a private prayer for her and her family. I felt a connection that I have no way to explain. When I awoke the next morning I had a message from our friend Alice. I knew when I saw her name. I knew when I called that she was gone. ⠀ ⠀ I love this photo so much. I love that I am looking adoringly at my friend. I love how Meagan looks embarrassed that I’m taking a photo of her. I’m sure she said something like “gurrrrl I didn’t even have time to do my hair this morning that’s why I’m wearing a hat” to which I would reply, “but you’re just so darn cute I have to take a picture and document it.” ⠀ ⠀ Love these words by our dear friend Alice @lba_lovebeatsall “She was brave enough to be vulnerable and open up to the world and share her incredible journey. In the simple hope that it would help even just one person feel heard, seen and comforted. She spread warmth and kindness to everyone she met along her way, nurses, doctors, healers anyone that came into her life. She was the brightest light in a dark place, and will continue to shine on through her husband Kirk and beautiful daughters Parker & Dylan.⠀ When creating Love Beats All we talked long and hard about the name, and although love alone has not kept Meagan here with us she always said “love beats all if only for another day”.⠀ ⠀ If you feel led to support her family there is a link in my bio.
