マット・マクゴリーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (マット・マクゴリーInstagram)「"The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path for Higher Creativity" by Julia Cameron ( @JuliaCameronLive ) # I was given a copy of this book as a gift when I was in high school, but never got around to reading it. A few months ago it ended up popping up in some different areas of my life so I gave it a read and I was really glad that I did. For anyone that is missing a sense of creativity in their life or looking to reignite some of the passion in an area of creativity that you are drawn to, this book is a very worthwhile read. It is a 12 week program designed to tap into the joy of creativity, and uses a spiritual (not religious) approach to get there. One of the things that I love about it is that it supports the cultivation of joy and ease as a primary fuel, rather than a sense of militant, "shut up and do it" mentality that many artists have internalized along with perfectionism and grind culture (resulting from the effects of capitalism and white supremacy, even though the book doesn't name those things). # Art and tapping into our creative joy can also be incredibly healing and resilience building, not to mention that art shifts and shapes culture. We need artists to be radical about their visions for the future, imagining worlds beyond the oppressive systems that we live with and that have atrophied our imaginations for solutions that exist outside of the current system. Shifting culture is how our movements for justice win, and the artist has a very important role to play in that. In the words of Toni Cade Bambara, “The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible." # My Booklist: bit.ly/mcgreads (link in bio) #McGReads」12月31日 1時20分 - mattmcgorry
