We didn’t see the tree at Rockefeller Center this year or any of the department store holiday windows, (they are doing timed viewings by appointment but it seemed like too much of a hassle), but we did get to see one of my favorite NYC holiday displays- the Christmas tree farms that pop up on sidewalks all over Manhattan. Not one but three farms lined our daily walk to Harlow’s school. We saw families buying trees and trekking them home on foot every day. It helps to know that even though no one is having a big Christmas celebration this year, we’ll all be celebrating quietly at home. That’s the other thing I love about the holidays in Manhattan. Seeing everyone’s trees lit up inside their apartment building windows, speckled like a festive checkerboard. Separate but together.🎄🎄🎄❤️
