There is a golden range where reps and load are optimized. You need a heavy enough load to create the necessary mechanical tension while stimulating the proper amount of hypertrophy. If you only train your arms once per week in a traditional split, they will get less stimulation and growth than training some arms two or three times per week. Biceps recover quickly enough to be trained 2-3 times per week. Thus, if you want to build bigger arms you should work them into several days of your weekly schedule.
