Carnitas are in the oven, and they’re gonna be a while, so I figured I’d drop some artwork from the graphic novel I’ve been working on, Chef’s Kiss. This book has been a few years in the making, and I’m so proud of it. Coming out from @onipress in 2022, the story centers on Ben, a recent graduate that can’t find work in his field. Desperate for any job that’ll have him, he finds work at a vegetarian restaurant where he discovers a passion for cooking... and his co-worker Liam. It’s the kitchen romance you didn’t know you needed. ___________________ I’m blessed with an incredible co-creator, Danica Brine (@kari_drawz) who draws everything beautifully, from food to people to adorable piggies. Our colorist, Hank Jones (@hankjonescomics), does a magnificent job setting mood, and his choice of color palettes always complement Danica’s lines. And our letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (@hassoe) has done a beautiful job with every lettering choice, using custom fonts and word bubbles to emphasize a character’s mood, make jokes land, and set tone.
