@mattblack_blackmatt's American Geography began as a story of individual, isolated communities and grew into a portrait of an increasingly divided and unequal America, created during a time of rising disparity and disunion.

To mark the opening of Matt Black’s American Geography exhibition at the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg and the publication of his new zine, Black and Fred Ritchin (Dean of the School at ICP) conducted a number of extensive conversations about his six-year, 100,000-mile journey across the United States.
