A note about my mom. When I posted about the outdoor relay races my mom put together for Thanksgiving, so many people messaged to say how fun my mom always makes everything. It’s true. There’s the stuffed animal hunt on Passover, the piñatas she brings over for almost every occasion, the sleepovers she will have for all the cousins in her bedroom with matching sleeping bags from Costco, the basement filled with all of our kids’ old toys so that they are so excited to go down there and revisit them. She never centers herself and always does everything with the kids in mind. When she recently decided to decorate her kitchen wall with photos of her grandkids, she didn’t ask for professional photos or lots of choices. She asked each grandkid to send their favorite picture of themselves. Then she blew them all up, framed them and hung them in the most prominent place in her house. She is a wonderful mom, but if possible, I feel like she is an even more wonderful grandma. Or just a really special person in general ❤️
