I would be concerned if you still could make this photograph nowadays: riding on a train with the doors open ! But that is how we shot this in 2000 when we took the train from Eze to Nice and shot stuff on the move. And then kind of tried to repeat some of this for the Electrical Storm video in 2002. The slightly chaotic interplay between lines in the foreground and the architecture in the background is utterly random and no 2 frames on my film are the same. The look was created for a project of fake-paparazzi images I was doing late 90’s, shooting on a Polapan (b/w) film with a flash and then printing on colour paper creating a blue with a hint of red to reach a sunshine faded colour look. Like a film poster that has been hanging too long in a closed down cinema in say New Mexico. A conceptual series of images but I loved the look for some work with U2 as well. #AntonU2Takeover @antoncorbijn4real
