Mondaire Jones and Ritchie Torres, both of New York, won their US House races, becoming the first Black members of Congress who identify as gay, CNN projects. "Tonight, we made history," Torres tweeted after winning the race. Jones tweeted that he's "grateful for the opportunity to serve the community that raised me — the community that just sent an openly gay, Black guy who grew up in Section 8 housing and on food stamps to Congress."
