The last dance set is midnight for an hour (more jams) & night over by 2am Rinse/Repeat. Of course no 5 year old could do all that wear/tear so most likely I’d do just dad’s sets and nap backstage (or ask women to start my record collection) In case you’re wondering: “scandal culture” wasn’t a thing in the 70s (sans Watergate) so until Reagan’s America in 81 there wasn’t a thing like “should a kid be in a nightclub this young?” (The fake moral majority outrage stuff that’s strangely quiet right now) When I got older (8-9) I was responsible for wardrobe stuff (cleaners/shoe repairs/packing) when I was 10-11 I was production manager (cutting light gels/running spotlight/marking off stage) & by 12 I knew the entire family business so it was natural for me to become bandleader & start drumming. Ahh look: more proof I came out the womb working. On that #WhereisEllie post I explained stranger danger was too real in the 70s so you’d either be watched by an older sib or just go to work. Loving music I didn’t see this as *work*.
