It took my sis & I (@dtonevic) near 5 years to come to grips with our dad’s passing (we had to deal w ourselves first and well—-I guess for both of us we’ve grown into way more evolved people than we were in 2016). I was kinda under the impression that I lost all traces of my history from 71-95. I had some photos, & my record collection & my soul train so i .....*thought* I was good. But all those things like report cards & school books & play programs & clothes & toys & pics—-certificates—name it—-I thought they just got thrown in the trash (long story y’all....prolly in my last book in my 80s in 2051 😏) anywho——we finally opened those....memories. Man....a doozy. So many memories: my dad’s masters, rehearsal tapes, chord charts from shows, report cards (how I get a B minus in Russian/French in the first grade but got a C minus in music? Lol)—-man even Square Roots archives—-for all the “dad didn’t know about The Roots until our second album” talk, he sure kept a lot of my pre record deal memorabilia around.
