Fashion photography has enabled me to celebrate different types of beauty and backgrounds and go against the stereotypes of beauty ideals.”   About the artist - Nadine Ijewere is a south-east London born photographer. Her work focuses primarily on the subject of identity and diversity, informed by her own Nigerian / Jamaican background. She is drawn to non-traditional faces with the aim of showcasing a new standard of beauty and giving life to the uniqueness of disparate cultures. While at school, Nadine took up photography among her more academic subjects. But she found herself drawn to the creative side and went on to study photography at UAL’s London College of Fashion. Leaving college, she went straight into taking her  own pictures, crediting social media with helping her to establish relationships with collaborators including stylist Ibrahim Kamara, casting models from Instagram, and enabling her to gradually build her reputation. In 2016 Ijewere’s work was featured in The Tate Britain Generation exhibition and at Unseen Amsterdam and Logos Photo Festival in 2017. She was the recipient of the ICP Applied award in 2020.
