In Rajasthan camels were called the ships of the desert, as most of the trading was done through camels. Now they are mostly used only for tourism, which remains one of the primary professions for the villagers. The kids start getting into the business at a very young age by taking tourists for rides around the dunes and even conducting village tours. The slow ride on a camel is the most holistic way to navigate the vast land of nothingness, however, seeing children engaged in tourism at such a young age is almost heartbreaking.
