The power and possibilities of using Speedlites is endless, I can do more with more lights verses more light. What I mean by that, is I would rather be on location with five Speedlites verses one 500 watt second strobe! I wanted to create a dynamic portrait of Reggie Roberts, he's a body builder and athlete. I used three EL-1 Speedlites and three 600EX RT Speedlites to create this portrait. The new and improved ETTL in conjunction with eye/face/head detection has greatly improved the consistency of ETTL Flash Exposure. Let me not forget to mention my new favorite feature, Flash Exposure Memory! When active in the Personal Function #5, you can capture a photograph, review the image, then lock in the flash exposure settings by selecting all or each individual group, and selecting Manual. The exact flash power output is given for all or each individual group. I used Groups mode from the EL-1 Sender, but it was not contributing light to the scene. This is a mix of ETTL and Manual flash modes. Remember the Sender is always in Group A, it's de-active. The Main light is an EL-1 in Group B in ETTL, shaped with a Westcott Rapid Box Beauty Dish. I used 4'x8' black foam core board and cut 1 1/2" slats, covered them with diffusion paper, backlighting the scene with three 600EX RT Speedlites in Group C, Manual mode at 1/2 power bounced into a Westcott 7' silver parabolic umbrella. I grouped the three 600s for more flash output and improved recycle time. I used canned atmosphere to create the haze in the scene and use 4500* Kelvin Color Temperature for the overall cool tone of the portrait. The new rechargeable Li-on battery utilizing the current LC-E6 battery charger has improved recycle time, I no longer will need to use the high voltage external battery pack to keep up the high energy style of how I shoot."」10月14日 22時22分 - canonusa
