Solo exhibition in Shanghai soon to come, @thelongmuseum

The Long Museum West Bund is pleased to present 'Accountable Nature,' Tomokazu Matsuyama's first solo exhibition in Shanghai, from November 11th, 2020 to January 24th, 2021. This exhibition will introduce Matsuyama's fundamental notions that captured the status quo of the present-day life and culture in an unembellished manner. The works in the exhibition will feature Matsuyama’s extensive range of aesthetic language, from his iconic shaped canvas to large scale sculptures.

この度、上海の龍美術館（Long Museum West Bund）にて、2020年11月11日から2021年1月24日まで、松山智一の個展「Accountable Nature」を開催いたします。絵画作品から巨大な彫刻作品まで数十点を体系的に紹介することを目的とし、本美術館では、日本人初の個展となります。

松山が「編集」をキーワードに制作してきたノマディックでユートピアンな世界観をもつ作品群は、自然とデジタル、現実と非現実といった我々の時代を構築する不安定な二項対立を描き出し、その作品は強烈な同時代性を放つのです。社会がいま「新しい生き方」に適応しようと模索する中で、松山の作品は、人々がアイデンティティを見出す「現実（リアリティ ）」とは本当の世界なのか、そもそも「現実（リアリティ ）」とは一体何なのか、という問いを本個展を通じて投げかけます。
