Just a little carousel from some late summer adventures. A day trip on the Teton traverse and 120 mile link up of trails around Lake Tahoe. Putting in the occasional big day with great friends has kept morale high this summer despite our seemingly downward spiraling world.
I often get asked in interviews what gives me hope in these tough times. Usually I talk about inspiring outings with great friends. A few days ago I was listening to an interview with Nikayla Jefferson from the Sunrise Movement when she had a great answer to this question about hope. “If you study history you find that humans have come back from the brink of extinction so many times.” Humans are capable of so much. When the threats are seen clearly we find a way to overcome. Maybe I love climbing because continually shows me the strength of human will. Let’s harness just a little bit of that will this fall.
