As I have mentioned before, William Albert Allard's work is one of the reasons that I wanted to become a photographer. Lone Rider, the cover for his Iconic book, Vanishing Breed, about the disappearance of the Cowboy in the American West is such a compelling image. It makes me want to see more. You can own one of his pictures. Shot on the beautiful Kodachrome 64, the palate is unmistakeable combined with Bill's composition and aesthetic it is hard to compare the work to anyone.
My colleague and friend is offering this print along with others, as part of his annual flash sale. This flash sale print is a 6” x 9” image on a 9” x 11” paper. It is produced with archival ink on archival watercolor paper and signed with graphite pencil on the front border. It is a perfect gift for a young aspiring photographer or anyone who loves photography.
“This is perhaps one of my most iconic images, certainly of my work on the American West. If I have one single image that kind of sums up my feeling about the American West it is probably this picture. Wide-open spaces, men, and horses. Solitude.” To see more, visit
