And finally, I’ve written a book called GIRL (out in NOV in the UK, DEC in the U.S.), a collection of essays that celebrate the breadth and nuance of Black womanhood in an ever-changing world. Because Black women are more than one narrative, one hashtag, one news cycle. We’re many things. Aren’t we all? Have loved stepping outside of my social network to hang with you all today (more in Stories.) And I hope that you too, will then go out and speak to someone outside your echo chamber, make a commitment to having the honest, uncomfortable conversations with your families and friends in your day to day — and take real, tangible IRL steps to help dismantle racism.
