I’m a literal tree hugger. And I usually have a favourite tree. This is that tree right now. My first favourite tree was a maple at the corner of Woodbine and Roy Avenues in Sudbury. I’d stop when I’d walk by, stare as I drove past. It was torn down some time in the past few years, but you can still see it on Google Street View if you rewind to 2009. I know this sounds like a joke but I’m dead serious: do you have a favourite tree?

Anyway, I hope you like trees as much as I do. They stand, often for hundreds of years, watching the world go by. I wonder if they watch our lives go by like we watch our dogs. A little more active and a lot shorter lived.
