In case you aren’t paying attention, yesterday Trump wouldn’t commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses. He was asked the question directly and said, “We’re going to have to see what happens.” Then he said that “the ballots are a disaster” and that “there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation.” For those of you who are still thinking that both sides are equally bad, opting to sit this one out or vote third party, let me be clear. Trump’s position goes far beyond the extreme views of the Republican Party. Trump is not interested in a democracy that is governed for and by the people. He wants to rule by force. Whatever you think about the Democrats, please understand that the opinions that capture the headlines like democratic socialism and defunding the police, are not only confusingly worded, they do not represent the candidate that the Democrats have nominated to represent us. Biden is a moderate. He believes in working across the aisle. He believes in slow change. He does not believe that the police should be dismantled. There are a lot of Democrats who do not like this about him and I am not here to tell you what I believe. What I want you to understand is that the Democrats have not chosen whatever your version of leftist extremism is in this election. Biden didn’t even chose a Vice Presidential candidate that represents a more extreme version of the party. He chose Kamala Harris. She is also a moderate Democrat. This election is not about whether you are a Republican or a Democrat. It is about saving our democracy and the only way to do that is to vote for Biden in numbers that Trump will have trouble disputing. We are all parents here who want our kids to grow up in a land where they can voice their views and trust their government to at least try to do right by the American people. We know what Trump’s America looks like. IT IS NOT GOOD. Do not sit this one out. You are voting to save our country and our constitution. #vote #bidenharris
