Photo by @ジミー・チン / @コンラッド・アンカー calls Antarctica “The Big Ice.” Even for those of us that have spent a good portion of our lives in the mountains, the distances and the scale are almost impossible to decipher on the Big Ice. These were the “small” mountains to the west of the Sentinel Range, where we were climbing. In general, we always assumed things were further or bigger than what our eyes were comprehending.
