Recently a stone hit my head and destroyed my helmet. I wondered if safety is still guaranteed or better do away with it? 🤨
Depending on function and construction, these are three different helmet types:
👉 Hard-Shell helmets are extremely robust; made of plastic nowadays; have internal straps that absorb energy and make the helmet not to sit directly on the head.
👉 In-Mold (Soft-Shell) helmets have a thin outer shell, that is firmly connected to a shock-absorbing EPS core. They are light, but less robust and can be easily damaged f.e. by sitting on it.
👉 Hybrid helmets combine the advantages of hard shell and in-mold helmets. They are robust and shock-resistant and belong to the particularly robust all-rounders.
👉👉 My one is a Soft-Shell type, so I better do away with it!✌️
