Today, day 5 of our iceland bike traverse, we had the opportunity to ride past this glacier on a remote seldom traveled 4x4 route that forced us to cross over 25+ rivers- last week these were impassible. Luckily due to cold weather & an alpine start we were able to do so safely passing the geographic crux of our route- the section that was a big question mark. This was the section we most feared but also were most excited about. Our current route takes us through the heart of Iceland- as it should, passing through every major glacier until reaching the furthest point in the Westfjords.
