I remember seeing Woodstock footage of Richie Havens singing, and he had no top teeth. And he sang and played his ass off. It made me a believer right away, the passion he brought, the way he delivered the lines. It reminds me a little bit of Joe Cocker, where they were great artists, but the songs they covered and reinvented seemed like their greatest gift. This Beatles tune, “Here Comes the Sun” is no exception - and I love how you can hear the little riffs and spontaneity in this live recording.
