This is something that has been weighing on my mind for a long time. Seeing all the issues before us I’m starting to realize my contribution to it all and trying to come to terms with it. Before I was diagnosed with bipolar I would be quick to judge a person like Kanye West or the actions of someone undiagnosed and write them off as “crazy.” If you swipe left you can see the recent statement from @キム・カーダシアン which I think is a really honest and thoughtful insight into how we’re addressing things like mental health in social media. We like to talk about self care but don’t give the grace to others that are struggling with self care. We judge, we condemn. This goes beyond mental health. It is ecological, political, etc. I’m doing the right thing and they’re doing the wrong thing so I don’t have to have empathy for “them.” I highly encourage you to watch the IGTV post of the excerpt from @charles_eisenstein’s class with @onecommune and come back and comment on your thoughts. We need to talk about these things with each other so we can better understand each other’s perspectives. I made some enamel pins with @valleycruisepress awhile back that represent this inner struggle and cognitive dissonance.
