In an app I use that shows me photos from past years, it had a caption that I thought was something someone might need to hear, so here it is again: “Just a little over a year ago I was in the deepest depression I’ve ever felt. I was thinking suicidal thoughts. I felt like a burden to my family, and had no idea what I was doing with my life. I felt totally lost and alone. This morning I went to an excellent @portland_cm talk given by @eedumas where he talked about being lost and that it’s ok. I needed that reminder that it’s ok to feel lost, we all do at some point. In those low moments the messages of “Stay Positive” feel like adding insult to injury. Just because someone looks ok on the outside doesn’t mean they’re not really struggling on the inside. In those moments it really hurts and it feels like it will never get better. I’m here to tell you it’s going to hurt like hell sometimes and some of you might wish your weren’t here, and looking at Instagram and everyone’s perfect world makes you feel worse. Remember those people have felt like their world is crumbling before, or they will feel like it someday. Just know there are amazing things just down the road if you just keep on driving. Pull over to a rest stop if you need to, that’s what they’re for. Get professional help if you feel like it’s never going to end. I found out I had bipolar and I got on the right medication and it changed my life. I still have my down moments but I know I won’t be there forever. It’s a traffic jam and it will eventually clear. Sending any of you that are hurting virtual hugs. It will get better. ❤️”」11月23日 13時08分 - jgspdx
