Giant African millipedes like these @ptdefiancezoo can measure up to eleven inches in length, with their bodies consisting of between 30 to 40 different segments. There multiple legs attached to each segment- millipede species have been found to have anywhere from 36 to 400 legs! A millipede’s body is also covered in spiracles, which are tiny pore-like holes that the insects use to breathe in place of lungs.
