In the wild, the incredible Volcan Alcedo tortoise is found inhabiting the flanks and rim of the Alcedo Volcano; the central volcano of Isabela Island in the Galápagos Islands. The species’ domed shell is indicative of its eating habits, suggesting that the tortoises graze on low-growing vegetation.
